LUCAS PR: Michael Lucas profiled in The New Republic magazine

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Michael Lucas profiled in The New Republic magazine

New York, NY (March 10th, 2008) -- Lucas Entertainment President and CEO Michael Lucas is the first gay porn entrepreneur ever to be profiled in America's most influential journal of opinion, The New Republic. The article, entitled "Hard Right," is the most in-depth analysis thus far of Lucas' political opinions.

Mentioned on the cover of the current issue of the magazine on newsstands now with the tagline "The (Neocon) Kingpin of Gay Porn," the article can be read online in its entirety here: http://www.tnr.com/story.html?id=156266ab-dc0b-46da-a59d-5d95a4332faf

"I am very proud to be featured in my absolute favorite magazine," said Lucas. "I have subscribed to The New Republic since 1997 when I arrived in America. This is a magazine which I can relate to much better than most other publications. Their views very often echo my own."

Headquartered in Washington, DC, The New Republic was founded in 1914 with a mission to provide its readers with an intelligent, stimulating and rigorous examination of American politics, foreign policy and culture. The magazine, published twice per month, continues to be America's best and most influential journal of opinion.

"This is the best gift for my birthday today," continued Lucas. "I can't imagine a better present for my 36th."

Congrats.

If I was the gay man everyone assumes I am, I'd be courting you hard.

Fuck it, I'll pursue you anyway.

XXXO,
K

"And if the results are sometimes ridiculous or noxious--well, that's the American way."

A rather fair description.

Hey Michael,

Just read the piece in NR - great job! I am seriously intrigued and encouraged by your candidness in approaching serious issues. Thanks for standing up for what you believe and pointing out that different viewpoints are needed for any meaningful understanding and discussion to take place. As another white gay jew (my ancestors on my mothers side are from Russia) looking at the world today I find it equally challenging to reconsile what I hear and read and appreciated reading your viewpoint.

I honestly hadn't heard of you before the article and am now going to make it a point to read your blog for more of your opinion on matters.

Good on ya,
Rob

Michael, you just made CBS news.

I like your views regarding Islam and Israel, and the war on terror.
there ain't too many gay folks like us who have a staunch support of Israel.
Keep on speaking your mind, the gay community needs to hear more, even if it pisses the leftists off.
Ohh you're so hot too.
You kinda remind me of Dan Savage and the advice he gives about safe sex, and that's advice we need.
A big thanks to ya.

Congrats! Well done thanks for expressing the views of many of us drowned out by the movement of noise, vitriole and racism!

Congratulations on the public position you've taken on Israel. It is so refreshing to hear someone in our community point out the total hypocrisy of gay support for the Islamo-Fascists who have zero respect not only for gays, but women, Jews, Christians and anyone else that doesn't subscribe to their worldview. The gay community should be ashamed for not supporting the one community among 23 mid east nations where a gay can be gay without fearing for their life. As you know, if the Israelis laid down their arms, they would be destroyed; if the Palestinians laid down their arms, there would be peace. Keep up the great work...

Hello Michael,

An interesting weblog.

I read an article in the Economist.
It referred to your interview in the New Republic.
I got interested in your subject.
That's why I wanted to visit and read your weblog.

It is amazing what you accomplished in such a short period.
As an entrepreneur.

Furthermore, it is cool to see you (also) show so much interest in (inter)societal affairs or problems.
And also your work for Israel, your interest, is good (but perhaps controversial, according to someone).

The founding of Israel is quite remarkable, I think.
And of course, there is much said about it, but still it is a big accomplishment.
Throughout the ages Jewish communities have kept the hope alive, the hope to go back to Israel, to Jerusalem.
And especially, during Easter, Jewish Pesach, it is celebrated (or perhaps we could beter say commemorated).
Although, this longing (the return to the Jewish homeland (or state)) is partly accomplished by the Zionist movement of Theodor Herzl.

Today, the Middle East, the Levant, seems chaos.
Israel has difficult relations with its neighbouring states.
How should it end?

What can I do about it?
It is a difficult topic (everybody has an opinion).
What do I have to say? What does it add to the current discussion(s).
I have my own problems (that I have to sort out).
Life can be difficult.
It is (perhaps more) interesting for those who have the time to do these things.

I'd like to read your next weblogs.
I hope to get to know more of your views.

Regards,
Edwin
