Modern Anti-Semitism and Carter's Book

Anti Semitism has a new face today. With the holocaust of 6 million jews just 60 years ago, you will not likely hear politicians or religious leaders saying that the jews are at fault for the death of Christ (unless you are watching a Gibson movie) as well as all of the poverty in the world. Well- maybe you'd see that on an Arabic Channel, but not so much over here.
Today's anti-semites aren't using the word "jew" at all. Today's anti-semites use a blanket term, "the state of Israel" as a way of renouncing the Jewish people. So when they want to discuss how evil they think Jews are, they use Israel as an ersatz for the word "Jew" as they heap their bigoted scorn on the country.

Jimmy Carter's new book, Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid, is a prime example of this. Without using old anti-Jewish cliches, Carter, a famously conservative Christian, manages to reveal his true anti-semetic ways. He actually asserts that the entire responsibility for bringing about peace in the middle east lies on Israel's shoulders. He claims that Israel is at fault for everything, and the only reason there is no peace in the middle east is because Israel has blocked peace. In the course of his writing it's obvious that he sees all Israeli politicians - from Sharon to Golda Meir- and their American supporters as evil, while all Islamic fascists from Arafat to Hamas are good.
As a Democrat, I am concerned that any element of my party would associate itself with Carter's views. (I should note that the only reason I choose the flawed democratic party is for a lack of better options.) Why anybody has respect for this self-styled saint is beyond me. I was pleased to discover that the incoming speaker of house, Nancy Pelosi, rejected Carter's notions about Israel. I am just worried that the dems may grow more anti-semetic under Carter's influence. I hope that in the new year we do not see more democrats or people as a whole turn against Israel, the only democracy in the middle east. I hope that my concern is unwarranted, and that there is at least one political party that at least vaguely stands with me on the issues that compose my core political concerns.
I hope for the peace of Israel and a world that will some day be more tolerant of the Jewish people.
And one final thought to everyone- Happy Holidays.
Love,
Michael

Marc Jacobs Holiday Party, Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita Premiere Photos, and Johnny Hanson's return!

A photograph taken by a portraitist at the Marc Jacobs event
Last night I had a fantastic time at the Marc Jacobs 2006 Holiday Party. I was joined by countless amazing people and celebrities from Debbie Harry to Damon Dash. They played a wide variety of music from walzes to pop.

Marc dressed up as a huge pigeon. He couldn't use his hands under the wings so he had a friend hold his cigarette for him and he didn't eat anything because he couldn't go to the bathroom- but of course it was worth it because that was one FIERCE PIGEON COSTUME! And he wasn't just any pigeon, he was a fancy Italian one from the Piazza San Marco- the famous Venetian Square.
My favorite moment is when we went outside as Marc smoked and a man in the street asked Marc if there was something going on inside to which Marc answered, "yes".
The man continued, "with rich and fancy people."
"yes I believe so"
"what is the party"
"It's the Marc Jacobs' company party"
"Oh, I think I know that guy, he produces bags and shoes, right?"
"Yeah I think they make those as well."
Which of course was funny because all that man on the street knew was that he was talking to a very large pigeon from Piazza San Marco.
Check out more pictures from Marc Jacobs' Holiday Party here.

I've just uploaded some more pictures from Tuesday night as well. Here is one from the Question and Answer session. Check out more pictures from the Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita Premiere here.
We also filmed a scene today with gay porn legend Johnny Hanson and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. It was for a new movie called, "The Bigger The Better" (to be released February 27, 2007) starring Ben Andrews and Chad Hunt as boyfriends. Johnny was paired with red-haired Lucas Exclusive Steven Ponce. Johnny was incredible and he absolutely fucked the shit out of Steven! His dick was solid and rock hard- and he even made some on film firsts for us. This was Johnny's first time sucking dick and eating ass on camera. What can I say? Simply fantastic.
And PS, on newsstands this weekend:

Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita Star Spotlight: Pete Ross
Pete Ross's red hair, bright eyes, all-American look and acting abilities made a great addition to the Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita cast. This was my first time filming with him and I am happy to work with Pete again. We filmed him today in a new scene for Encounters and I am sure that you will love him in both movies!
And now, Heather has her way with Pete for a little Q and A:
What did you like most about doing Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita?
What didn't I enjoy?!? I had such a great time working on this project! Big sets, big stars, big studio... In retrospect it was such an honor to have been involved in this mega-movie. I have been privileged to work with some of the top studios in this industry and working with Lucas Entertainment was a total dream come true. The best part of the whole experience was working with such talented professionals, on and off camera. Kinga, Tony, Heather, Bryan, Michael, and my scene partner Jonathan Vargas made this project very special to me. I not only feel like I worked with these men and women, but that I made true friends with some of them.
What is your character?
The evil, back-stabbing former assistant to Michael Lucas' character, Rick Arnold. I loved playing a bad guy for once! And what is especially cool, is that when I was asked to be a part of Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita, I specifically asked to play a real "son-of-a-bitch" character. When you see what type of guy Rick Arnold is, I think you'll agree that he definitely is a ass-kissing bastard who is intent on destroying Michael Lucas' character, Max Todd.
Describe your scene.
In Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita, it's quickly revealed that Rick Arnold is Max Todd's former assistant. After being fired, Rick is intent on cosing up to New York's famed fashion designer, Jack Bond. Jack and Rick both scorned by Max in the past go about their on separate ways of defiling Max's character. While Jack Bond is more sharp-tongued and is able to hold his own in a war of words with Max, my character takes revenge much further by photographing his former boss in a very uncompromising place and position.
In between Rick's obsessive tailing of Max all over New York, I squeeze in some extremely hot sex with my date (played by Jonathan Vargas) I've invited to Jack Bond's fashion show. And let me tell you...it was one fucking crazy hot scene! I wanted to take the manic energy of being obsessed and angry into the bedroom, and while the scene starts with me literally barking orders and pushing Jonathan around the room, he took it to another level and matched my intensity and passion. Jonathan Vargas was a complete animal and I'm a little embarrassed to admit, but I can't wait to watch the movie just to relive that headboard-banging, yelling-at-the-top-of-my-lungs, frantic yet passion-filled scene!!!
Any funny or steamy stories from the set?
One really funny thing happened as I arrived on location, a Manhattan high-rise close to Lucas Entertainment's offices. I was right on time and approached the doorman with the apartment number, but after he called the lady who lived at the apartment, he told me that she wasn't expecting anyone. I told him that I must have the wrong address and tried calling anyone who had it. While I was calling L.E., the P.A. passed me on a sofa in the atrium and asked for the same apartment, then another person, this time a grip, and then my scene partner! That poor lady was so worried that 4 men were trying their damnest to come up to her apartment, I thought the cops were going to show up at any time! Luckily, the rest of the crew arrived five minutes later, this time with the right apartment number. I'm sure that doorman, and that wrong-address woman, would have flipped out if they had known what was up!
What was your favorite moment while working on Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita?
Oh...I think it's obvious that I loved filming with Jonathan Vargas. After filming our scene, we went out and I interviewed him for the January 2007 edition of Freshmen Magazine. I hope you guys that the time to check it out!
How do you think this will impact your porn career?
Oh...it can only enhance my career. Working on epic adult movies like Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita are what I want to be known for. And since I will be filming again with Lucas Entertainment, I guess you can say that Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita has become the start of a beautiful friendship!

Volver

With Pedro Almodóvar.
I know it will sound like old news to everyone, but I have been so busy with my latest film, that I totally forgot about mainstream movies- shame on me! I finally saw Pedro Almodóvar's Volver‚ and I thought it was fantastic. He's my favorite living director and I feel like the last person in the world to have seen his latest film!

First of all, I was amazed to discover how wonderful of an actress Penelope Cruz is. I thought all she could do was be a fag hag for Tom Cruise! Apparently she is much more and she even reminded me, as I think Almodóvar intended, of Sofia Loren in Two Women. I actually told him when I ran into him recently that I was impressed with Penelope Cruz' performance. He said he already knew she was an amazing actress because he's worked with her before in All About My Mother. I would love to see those films as well now!
The whole movie paid homage, as I believe is the case in most of Almodóvar's recent films, to great European actresses like Sofia Loren, Anna Magnani (You even see a clip of Magnani's movie Bellissima in Volver), and director Federico Fellini. Remember the opening shot of the women working in the cemetery? It was so reminiscent of Fellini's film 8 1/2.
Here is a video clip from YouTube of her singing the song "Volver" in the film. This little clip made my day. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
