The Late October Surprise

johnsays.jpg

Everyone gets their panties in a bunch anticipating the inevitable Late October Surprise - that last minute dirty trick a political party will pull just before the elections. Will the Replicans try to catch Osama now, or blow half of Manhattan away? Everyone's got their guesses. This year's surprise came from John Kerry. Click here for the story.

Look, we all know this is America's best kept secret- or at least it is a world wide secret. Though some members of our army are brilliant, the army is a home to an awful lot of morons. It's loaded with people who couldn't figure out anything else they'd like to do other than have some drill sergeant yell at them and teach them to kill. I don't think anyone will argue that you've got to be a dumbass to WANT to be in Iraq, but it still takes a real dumbass to spell it out, a week before elections!

Did John Kerry lose the 2004 elections because he is stupid? Yeah, I think so.
I am guessing that he was at least gently dropped on his head as a child. You have got to be an idiot to lose an election to W.
And I really don't have to guess. I KNOW Kerry is an idiot when he continues to go around making asinine speeches that put the whole Democratic party at risk.

Dumb. Ass.

Now if you like SMART ass, buy my freakin movie, will ya? It's on sale - you know you want it.

There are a lot of young men and women in the military who want to go to Iraq. Some to help their fellow troops, some to make even the smallest difference. They doing, either by choice or by following orders, what everyone only talks about from the safety of behind their computers. I would be inclined to think twice about calling anyone one of them a dumbass for putting their lives on the line every minute of the day, so people like you and I don't have to.

Make no mistake about it, the Iraq situation has been handled poorly, loaded with bad decisions and lack of ddirection. One could even question our purpose for being there in the first place. But as far as the men and women fighting over there, call them brave, call them hero, but by no means call them a dumbass.

The American public collectively is one big dumbass for not screaming for the entire Bush administration to be impeached.

Whatever W's actual motivations for invading Iraq the result is that now in Iraq there is a Constitution based on Sharia law whereas before there was a secular government.

The urgent dangers presented by Iran and North Korea are as urgent as they are because W's policies drove those nations into taking measures against being invaded on false pretenses the way Iraq was invaded.

It's true that Kerry should sideline himself. He's a poor extemporaneous speaker and a statesman really does have to be articulate. Furthermore, he will never, ever be president and he should accept that and let more worthy candidates get on with it.

However, he was right. The US is stuck in Iraq. The whole policy is foolish enough that anybody who promotes it in any way, including agreeing to go there as a soldier, deserves to be called a dumbass.

There is nothing worse than when a population gives uncritical support to its military. Given that militaries are charged with killing people, skepticism is always in order as regards military organizations.

I am sorry but, the elevation of Sharia to the law of the land in Iraq led to the situation pertaining there now wherein gay people are murdered in the streets and it is not considered a crime. Don't expect me to support the US military personnel who are reinforcing that violation of human rights.

I just wanted to say that I totally believe everything Haggard says.

He really did buy meth from a masseur . . . with whom he never had sex . . and he really never used the hard drug.

He might as well go back to heading his church and giving Bush spiritual advice because his credibility is completely untarnished.

Long live the GOP (did I just hear a whoopie cushion make a fart noise?)

Since when did you become a wealth of information on the US military? Did you ever serve in it? I'd research your comments about US service men and women before you make them. They're the one protecting your ass when you need it....like firemen or cops. Insulting their inteligence gets you no where.

The GLBT community should be taking aggressive action against the disgusting behavior and statements of Ted Haggard.

In apologizing to his fellow Evangelicals (who were not harmed by him nearly so much as gay people were) he described his being in the closet like this: "There's a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I have been warring against it for all of my adult life."

The fact of being gay is not "dark and repulsive." The fact of being an anti-gay bigot, however, is most certainly dark and repulsive.

The asshole Ted Haggard used his enormous influence with his Evangelical followers to in turn influence the acting President of the United States in his choice of Supreme Court Justices, his decision to make a "shock and awe" attack on Iraq in the belief that "god" was on his side and in his scheming to deny 10% of Americans their constitutionally-mandated legal equality.

We should be screaming bloody murder every time the asshole Ted Haggard . .. or any asshole Evangelical anywhere . . . perpetuates through words and/or deeds the hateful anti-gay bigotry that led to this situation in the first place.

Their political influence against us is without the slightest merit. Democracy is not only about majority votes; it's also about protecting the freedom of the individual within the community.

Every single time the asshole Evangelicals try to take away our freedoms and dignities within the community of the nation, we should be screaming bloody murder against them.

To label them for what they are, they are Christian-Totalitarian hypocrites and bigots. Show them NO RESPECT until they show respect to us. Ted Haggard should burn in hell for eternity before anybody accepts an apology from him.

I agree with Michael. My sympathy for the folks doing what they're doing in Iraq is at absolute zero. They by and large elected the bastard who sent them there, and a lot of them have joined up since the "war" started. If they're not interested in dying in combat, they shouldn't have joined the army.

Yes there are probably some morons in the military but most are not. Just like there are moronic drug addicts in porn prob a higher percentage in the army. A lot a people join the service to serve their country and it's interests. I guess their dumb asses for wanting to serve and protect people like you, but that's the difference their willing to make sacrifices for us as a whole and not just certain self elevated parts of the population.

MESSAGE TO HEPHASTION REGARDING HIS COMMENT ABOVE:

You wrote "to serve their country and it's interests."

Please learn the difference between the contraction "it's" and the possessive "its."

If you don't, you give people the impression that you aren't qualified to determine who is a dumbass and who is not.

Love,
Tight Hole

PS - You also wrote "I guess their dumb asses for"

Do you know the word analphabetic?
