Back in the Saddle again ...

So here I am, nearly 10 years since my first film for Lucas Entertainment, "Back in the Saddle".
Yes, I know I got a little carried away with Michael Lucas' La Dolce Vita lately, but you know what? This is the biggest production I ever filmed, so trust me, I am going to talk about it for another month at least!
Of course a lot of things have happened aside from the movie. Let's do some catching up:

I didn't have any time to watch tv while shooting. When I actually turned it on, I realized the dead girl with the funny name, JonBenet, is dominating the news, making Iraq look like an unimportant little conflict happening somewhere in Mars. I turned the tv on once again a week later just to see the creepy Larry King talking to an even creepier guest, John Karr, calling it "His side of the story". Larry King dedicated the whole hour to a pedophile who wanted to be known for killing the innocent little stripper girl.
And now everyone is busy with Marc Foley. Gays are saying that he is a pedophile. Come on, he's really not. Those boys were way past their puberty. But this is not about him being gay, either. This is about him being another government hypocrite, as he set up a lot of strict and overbearing laws and regulations to restrict the adult industry.
The Foley story is getting even bigger than the story of the girl with the makeup which I mentioned before. And of course this whole thing is not good for our community. What should be pointed out is that 98% of this sort of behavior and sexual harassment happens between straight people. Women have been treated as Foley treated his pages for as long as women have had jobs. Some people are assholes and Foley should not be pointed to as an excuse to hate gay people.
And one other thing, who else would Foley hit on aside from these pages? Everyone at the white house is so fucking ugly! What with Cheney and Bush and the rest of them ...
The moral of the story is, don't shit where you eat, unless you are me. But that's my job.
So I didn't enjoy tv lately, but I love watching my clips on Youtube. Isn't it Barbara Streisand month? I know she is on tour. I was never a big fan before, but someone sent me this clip and I thought her voice was divine.

More recently, I enjoyed the HX anniversary cruise which was a really well done event. I came with some of my favorite people, Spencer Quest, Ben Andrews, other friends, and of course, Lady Bunny. On the way back from the cruise, we passed the windows at Chelsea piers. Bunny was banging every window where the guys were playing soccer, disturbing their game, screaming "I'm open!". We went to Beige later where she exchanged phone numbers with the beautiful big, tall, black ... toilet attendant.
This weekend I saw Spencer Quest in Naked Boys Singing. Spencer was so enjoyable to watch. He's really talented and it comes across on stage.
Ok, that's all for today. I hope you enjoy the latest teaser. It's a teaser because we are not finished editing and have not created the official trailer yet. Look out for a steamier XXX version along with something that highlights some more upbeat moments of the film. Some people have commented on the video clip's somber mood and the fact that I am the center of attention. Well, that's the storyline, just as in the original film. My character wonders through life, lonely, while everyone around him is happy and energetic. You'll just have to see it to get the point I guess. Neither this movie nor the ending will leave you feeling depressed. I promise it will satisfy you in all possible ways!

The Foley matter is more serious than you make out because 1) the higher-up Republicans who protected Foley in order to maintain the Republican grip on power are the same people who vigorously oppose giving normal, non-pedophile gays legal equality. 2) Foley was indiscriminate. He attempted to seduce gay and straight young Republican men. The straight ones have thus had their anti-gay prejudices re-inforced. 3) Foley and his lawyers have gone unchallenged in trying to imply that Foley's being abused by a priest when young had something to do with his adult behavior. The slimey bastards at the end put a disqualifier "Mark isn't saying that this justifies what he did." But the truth is, he and his lawyers are exploiting the bigots' incorrect belief that sexual abuse experienced when young can somehow "turn a person gay." They use that ridiculous, false belief to demonize all gay people. 4) Parents have to put a lot of trust in other people before they'll send their adolescent children into their care. The entire Republican Congressional and Senatorial leadership were in on hiding Foley's abuse of parents' trust, but are doing everything they can to make it appear as though "gayness" rather than Republican dishonesty and corruption were the root of the problem. Why do we see no New York Times article or editorial detailing how homophobia has been rearing its ugly head in relation to the Foley scandal? I know better than to even query any mainstream publication about such an article. It's not as if I haven't attempted such things in the past; it's that from experience I know that mainstream editors don't give two shits about doing away with anti-gay prejudice. Yeah, they'll run the occasional piece from somebody in favor of civil unions. But we're talking about a deep-seated, hateful bigotry that has to be constantly hammered away at with reason and enlightenment if it is to be eliminated. That means that the news about our condition and the extent of the vicious prejudice against us has to be presented to STRAIGHTS in mainstream media, not to gays in GLBT outlets. Fuck Foley, fuck his lawyers, fuck all Republicans everywhere.

Michael,
Congratulations on celebrating 10 years of Lucas Entertainment. As I have often said, you and your company, along with all the great models that have worked for you over the years, have produced top quality gay porn. The Fire Island series, the Audition series and everything else in between have provided hours of entertainment, and proof that you and your casting department have "an eye" for selecting hot, sexy men to appear in your films. Of course I have my favorite models and films, and I am certainly looking forward to seeing La Dolce Vita, but you, Michael, will always be my favorite. (Although I hope we will be seeing more from Spencer Quest).
