The trailer/teaser makes the film appear to be quite melancholy. The images of the man on man action is hot, but overall I get a tone of sadness, regret, and longing.

It's definitely A TEASER, because it doesn't look like a porn film at all by this trailer. It looks closer to being a mainstream film with a few gay sex scenes that go as far as "Queer As Folk" did. Of course, we know better ;-)
So you definitely made something different here. And I mean "different" in a good way.

it looks great - my only negative comment would be to lose the ambient sound of traffic etc from that beginning shot and simply lay the music over it like the rest of the trailer as it detracts and spoils the overall effect somewhat.
apart from that, it's looking good!
