Israel, a Controversial Trip?

Hey Guys,

As I get ready to leave for my performance in Tel-Aviv next week, substantial publicity has been coming my way. After this morning's report of my trip on MSNBC, and my mention on Page 6, I googled three words: "Michael Lucas Israel" and over 50 articles came up. In fact, I believe there is no Jewish-oriented website that doesn't mention it! Some praise me while others bash and condemn the whole thing.

The audience that has been commenting on all these blogs and articles varies from conservative and liberal Jews to radical Islamists, straights to gays, and men to women from all over the world. Especially check out the website YNetnews.com: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3293013,00.html
(You have to click on the comments to read them.)

My favorite comments:
"WE DON' T WANT YOU HERE ! GO AWAY ! SHAME ON U !"
"Visit also Lebanon !"
"First Hollywood Freeks... now Michael Lucas!"
"Don't put God to the test"
"Stay Away Lucas Garbage"
"Lukas could be the moschiach!"
"Stop bashing him. You should thank him! He is defending the land of Israel."
"His more of a man than Hollywood Jews"
"I'm a straight guy, but this is just great. Having this guy in Israel will show everyone that Israel is everything that Hezbollah is not: strong, open, proud and tolerant. "
"World gay pride in jeruslem and now this. What a nasty thing to be JEWISH AND GAY!"

****

You know what? I'm not a hero. I just want to be there in a difficult time for the country I love. I can't believe I've actually started receiving threats by phone and email over this whole thing!

But I will say- I'm not Junior Vasquez; I will not cancel my trip for a hugely promoted show after accepting a great amount of money, as he has. They spent thousands of dollars promoting Junior's event, which is especially difficult in a time of war, since no one can afford expensive show tickets. Throughout the month, Israeli clubs were open with free admission just to support the morale of people in the Jewish state. A Vasquez representative simply said that Junior will come when the region is in better times. I'm going now. And I will not cancel no matter what. I've performed there many times before for thousands of gay men, and nothing will stop me.

Love,
Michael

PS- Check out this video on Youtube,
Everything that I think came from the mouth of an Arab woman! It would be great for people to listen to her so that they will stop running around trying to find excuses for Islamic fundamentalists. We in the west sometimes try to be politically correct, often afraid to speak the truth. Here you get it from an Arab woman herself, someone who has lived in Islam all of her life and has the authority to state the facts. More of us should be able to do so.

Hi Michael:

The unfortunate thing is that everything the woman is this video says is what all leaders of non-Muslim countries should be saying on a daily basis.

Non-Muslims are easily swayed to the view that there is no reason to automatically be suspicious of Muslims and their motivations for this reason: they have not read the Koran.

It is a hateful book, a thorough-going brainwashing, pervaded by an "Us-against-them" mentality and containing umpteen exhortations for Muslims to either subjugate or kill non-Muslims.

The Bible, both the old and new testaments, contains very occasional objectionable passages which have by and large been disavowed by followers of the respective religions. The Koran, by contrast, which is THE source of Islamic thought, is supersaturated with intolerance of and exhortations to the repression and killing of non-Muslims.

It would do our defense a lot of good were more of us to read the Koran cover to cover. Our governments and our media should vigorously confront Muslims about their adherence to the Koran. We should not accept the insidious migration of Muslims into non-Muslim countries as though this population were just one more group eager for advancement or, in the case of the US, eager to pursue the American dream. Their goal, actually, is to destroy the American dream. The New York Times runs frequent pieces on Muslims in America, completely unchallenging to the Muslims profiled, and in so doing is abetting the enemy. One profile they did of an imam who heads a huge Muslim training center in California included his statement that he does want America to be run under Sharia, Islamic law, but that he wants that to come about through persuasion rather than through violence. Left out of the article was the fact that persuading people they should adopt Sharia involves convincing them that so-called "honor killings" of young women are acceptable.

The Muslims have already stolen from us our freedom of speech. Do you really think any Western editor of a major newspaper would run a piece pointedly critical of Islam and the Koran? The editors are too frightened of the reaction they could provoke.

During the recent conflict between Israel and Lebanon/Hezbollah, Muslims in a heavily Muslim district in Michigan protested in our streets in favor of Hezbollah. It's not that they were calling for a ceasefire; it's that they were praising Hezbollah. Nasrallah has said: "Death to America is not a slogan. Death to America is a policy, a strategy, and a vision." A Congressman from that district, his name is Dingell, said he couldn't decide between supporting Israel and supporting Hezbollah. Later asked for a clarification, he said he must be sensitive "to the needs of his constituents."

On the one hand, you could say that the insidious migration of Muslims to America could in the future lead to their including violence as part of their means of "persuading." On the other hand, you could consider they have already done so. All of the 9/11 attackers had valid visas and they trained for their mission here.

Conservatives are so in a fret over undocumented immigrants that Florida passed a tough anti-immigrant bill that left the grove owners without enough South American workers to harvest the oranges and grapefruits. Yet Muslims continue to arrive through legal channels, building their mosques, reading their Korans, plotting to take our freedoms away from us.

Nobody who reads this blog should forget that Sharia calls for homosexuals to be killed and says that a good way to kill them is to throw them off the tops of tall buildings.

We in the non-Muslim world are, as a group, naive about the Muslim threat. The struggle to disabuse others of that naivete is as important as that to keep the Muslims from being victorious in their hideous aims. And nobdoy should think all problems with Muslims boil down to controversy over Israel. The Muslim massacre of one and one half million Armenians took place before modern Israel existed. And while Turkey is for some reason held up as an example of a "progressive" Muslim country, it is still illegal there to write or talk about the massacre of the Armenians; doing so is described as "an insult to Turkishness."

Go my brother in peace. I know G_d will bring you home safe and leave behind your message of happiness and life.

People who make negative comments seem to never use spell check. It's always bothered me. Michael, I hope you aren't too hurt by what some people said.

"Brother, you can believe in stones so long as you don't throw them at me." ... Wow! I love this woman! She has my vote for President.

Posted by: Jason Sechrest at August 22, 2006 01:11 AM

Hey, Michael,

I can't say I was suprised by the comments you've found and received, since I live in israel and now what kinds of people (some are more extreme and some are less) we have here.

I believe it's important that you still come and would like to thank you for doing so. I think it's great all sorts of people come to the area, even if it's porn stars. It's not "low" or anything like that, but important. you're not that different than an artist singing to make us happy. And even without a war, it's still great that you came before, coming now and hopefully return in the future. It's nice to know we have people in the world that love us and are willing to come over here (that hasn't happened much in the last decade).

I followed the link you gave to Ynet News, and commented on what people said, mostly because they had no idea what their talking about (I'm talkback #95).

And to conclude, I don't know if it's the place or if I should even link there, but I find it important - An Israeli campain, targeted to the gay community, to promote the usage of condoms (it's subtitled to english). It has a pretty strong clear message, I believe everyone in the world should see this - www.addictad.co.il.

WOW. A standing ovation to the gal in the vid! Thanks for posting it, Michael. A prime example of why I visit your blog frequently. Have an incredible time in Israel.

The woman in the video is named Wafa Sultan.

She was raised in Syria as a devout Muslim who hated Jews and didn't even think they were human.

She came to a turning point when members of the Muslim Brotherhood shot one of her university medical professors to death right before her eyes, yelling "Allah akbar!"

She moved to the US and developed an awareness that the Koran and other Islamic texts are nothing but a barbaric brainwashing. She determined to spearhead a movement to undo that brainwashing.

At the following link is a New York Times article on her: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/11/international/middleeast/11sultan.html?ex=1299733200&en=d13886daba5e586f&ei=5090&partner=rssus

Here is another article on her from the web site of a radio station: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=100139

She is working on a book; part of its working title is "When God is a Monster."

She contributes to the following site, which is an excellent resource for no-nonsense talk about Islam: http://www.annaqed.com/english.html

Michael, go to Datalounge.com and do a search on your name, plenty of posts are there about you as well.

Anyway, how I wish I could be in that audience. Israel is such a great place, I visited in the early 90's after the first Intifada ended and the spirit of the people was amazing. Post as often as you can once you get there.

The combination in this post about your trip to Israel and the woman's protest of Islamic insanity should make us all recall that Islamic insanity does not, in truth, center on Muslim's rabid hate for Israel.

Israel has 2% of the population of the Mid East living on 1% of its land. There were lots of displacements at the end of WWII, including by the way Jews kicked out of Arab countries who had all their property including their life savings confiscated. But anyway, Greeks vs. Albanians, Germans vs. Poles, et cetera, et cetera, they all found ways of working things out and getting on peacefully in the modern world. Only the Muslims remain fixated on one of the post-WWII border questions and refuse to let 2% of the Mid East population live in peace on 1% of the region's land.

However, as I stated above, with or without Israel in the world, Muslims are insane because the Koran is an insane text. Mahmud of Gazni in the 11th century, acting out of his faith in the Koran, massively abused the Hindu population of India. He forced millions of people to covert to Islam under threat of death and indeed killed umpteen people, as well as destroying their Hindu temples and making a mockery of them.

Nor should we forget the plight of Salman Rushdie, living under a death order "fatwa" because he wrote the novel "The Satanic Verses" which Muslims consider an insult to Islam. This is one of the core problems with Islam. One can not criticize what is so wrong with it without being sentenced to death by people who believe in the sick and demented cult. Both the Japanese and the Italian translators of the novel were stabbed to death by Muslims. Iran has declared that the fatwa against Rushdie "will remain in effect forever." One of Iran's state foundations, they're called "bonyad," has offered a $2.8 million reward to the person who kills Rushdie. The book has nothing whatsoever to do with Israel. Non-Muslims who think that if only it weren't for Israel, there would be no problems with the Muslims, are delusional.

Good for you! I'm proud that you're sticking to your plan and still going! Don't let people get you down..I know you won't!

Now comes word that the "Palestinians" who kidnapped 2 journalists in Gaza are demanding that Muslims held prisoner in the US are released.

News organizations shouldn't be sending their people into "Palestinian" areas in the first place. The "Palestinians" carefully control what they see and what they say and write, so it's not like they're delivering news; they're delivering poisoned propaganda.

And the world shouldn't be fooled by Hamas having adopted Arafat's tactics. Their officials tell the world they are "searching" for the kidnap victims and that they don't support the kidnapping, but meanwhile, they know exactly where the hostages are, who has taken them, and are in fact doing nothing about it.

And as long as the subject is Arafat, people should never forget that he was born in Egypt, before anybody had breathed a word about "Palestine" as a distinct Arab political entity. During this latest conflict with Hezbollah, ignorant commentators would say it was Israel's last "occupation" of Lebanon that led to the rise of Hezbollah. The truth is that Arafat with his PLO had previously ensconced himself in Jordan, creating a state-within-a-state such as the one in Lebanon today. The King of Jordan had to wage a war against Arafat and the PLO to kick them out of his country and reassert his nation's sovereignty. From there, Arafat moved on to Lebanon. And out of Lebanon, he carried out terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians. That is why Israel had to act. Israel did not "occupy" Lebanon. Syria, in truth, had occupied Lebanon while supporting the Muslims in the civil war against the Christians. Israel just established a buffer zone so terrorists could not attack its civilians out of Lebanon.

There barely is such a thing as Lebanon. It was weak since the time it was formed after WWII, and it has been a pawn of Muslim terrorists since at least the 1970s.

We need to be clear-eyed, and not yield one iota to the mountainous Islamic bullshit.

Michael , I always had been a fan of yours for the great movies that you had made for over the years.
I always knew as well that you're much more than a great body and a big cock . I appreciate your opinions and I endorse it in 100 %.
Michael is simply like Madonna , he loves to push people's butts (metaphorically and for real as well)...
I also agree when Friedrich Nietzsche pronounced the in the XIX century the metaphor in german "Gott ist tot" (God is dead) or as well when Karl Marx said in the same century "THE RELIGION IS THE OPIUM OF THE HUMANITY".

I don't like religions at all , I am an atheist, but as the Dr. Wafa Sultan said , is important you respect other's people belief's even if they worship stones , as long as they respect my "faith" or even better my lack of faith , my atheism.
The problem of this muslims who exacerbated their religiosity is that they do not respect other's people beliefs. They're living according to the rules of of the 7 century , and it's very PREPOSTEROUS indeed.

I also like very much indeed, when very wisely Dr. Wafa Sultan said that the jews never ever blew it up a restaurant in Germany because the holocaust, they're not insane.

We , the civilized world , have to be strong and fight against the intolerance and the ignorance. We have to fight not with weapons and killing people because this way we gonna make ourselves equal terrorists. We must to fight with the words , with intelligence likewise Michael Lucas is doing , standing up against the hypocrisy and the people who lives at Middle Ages restricted to the obscurantism of the intolerance , the ignorance and the insanity.
Congratulations dear MICHAEL LUCAS !

Spaziba ,thanks Michael.
