A quick note from Heather
Oh my god, people- going to a big gay event in New York is not the same without Michael! Nobody wants to take your picture and you don't get to be next to any of the cool hors d'oeuvres!
Anyhow, he's in Israel now and he made a quick phone call to update me on his trip so far. Tomorrow Michael will be going to a special event called "The 200 Coolest People of Israel", to which he said, "I don't know if I am the coolest or not, but I know I am invited ..." He said it was a very special event.
On the security at the airport:
"After 3 hours of security for a 10 hour flight, you feel absolutely safe! There is no way a terrorist is going to be on that plane after the hours of psychological questioning they put you through. But that's they way El Al has always done it. They are one of the most targeted airlines but they have never had an attack. And they don't bother with your lipbalms or water bottles in the process!"
When he spoke to his event organizers:
"They said, 'Junior Vasquez cancelled but Michael Lucas came.' they are all very angry about Vasquez' cancellation."
And finally, he spoke a great deal about the hotness of the guys there and all of the hysteria surrounding his visit. He had a press conference yesterday with all of the top Israeli journalists and newsmedia. The toughest question came from Reuters, which asked "I understand why gay men want to be out, but why so exhibitionist?" or something along the lines of that. Michael answered that it was natural for any oppressed minority to respond this way, and anyone who doesn't understand this doesn't understand gay people or civil rights.
But he's having fun too, saying that everyone and everything is so hot, "this place is on fire!" and I know he meant it in a good way ...
I was also told that great pictures are coming soon, so check back for more!
