My Trip to Peru ...
So my trip to Peru was absolutely smashing. This country is stunning. Beautiful nature, fantastic museums and architecture, amazing food, and very sweet, friendly people. I especially recommend Cuzco and Machu Picchu. If you go to Cuzco, stay in Hotel Monasterio. It's not just in a gorgeous old Monastery. It's also the only oxygenated hotel, where they pump oxygen into the rooms non-stop. This is very important considering the high altitude.
My boyfriend and I had 9 unforgettable days together, but enough of my yapping- just check out the pictures below:

The view from my Cuzco Hotel room.

I was feeling a little adventurous.

I even got on the top of Huayna Picchu.

I kind of gave up and let my beard grow a bit ... no one knows me in Peru anyway.

I visited the Museum of the Inquisition. It was a great reminder of how the Catholic Church dealt with non-believers ...
This picture is a great example of Catholic tolerance.

Peru still has a little problem with fashion.

At the Museo Larco Herrera, you see a hermaphrodite. Isn't it great to have a vagina and a cock at the same time? The best from both worlds.

I actually ate those snails, nearly on a daily basis. I must tell you, they are delicious.

This is actually not a llama, it's an alpaca. I bought many alpaca sweaters for my whole family.

Here you can see a little animal abuse in the ruins of Machu Picchu.

A reminder for parents not to forget to send their little boys to church. This can be found everywhere in Peru.

To my horror, the national delicacy is guinea pig, which they call kyui. It's on any respectable restaurant menu, served with claws and head. Very freaky!

Love at first sight. I bought her for 10 dollars, and then smuggled her over the border. So much for American security. Her name is Esther, after Madonna. By the way, nothing can age a girl more than this name.

Please don't think that I got this pig because gerbils no longer satisfy me so I went for a bigger animal. I just love their eyes.

All of these museums I visited had all of these pictures of these crucifixes.

I think this is the gayest picture I have ever seen. A real Peruvian Incan knitting with a toothless smile.

No, this is not me. This is an old lady, and there are thousands just like this walking around the beautiful town of Cuzco. They are actually about 60 years old, but living in the sun, and having a tough life, they look a solid 100 years.

In the streets of Lima. Not really sure what to say.

"The worldwide obsession with this skinny Jewish masochist enjoying himself on the cross "for all our sins" bores the shit out of me."
Glad you had a great trip - sounds like a fantastic place to visit.
Your statement above is quite offensive for those of us that are Catholic/Christian.
No doubt that if anyone made a comment about Adolf Hitler being a visionary/good person - you would be terribly offended. As a Catholic, I would be offended as well. Did you really need to include that in your trip posting???????

Wow, thanks for the pics. Looks like you had a splendid trip.
But if I may scold for a moment. While I can understand the desire for a guinea pig (my first pet when I was five was a guinea pig) smuggling over the border ain't the best idea. Not just because of the laws, but because of environmental impact. Who know what parasites or pathogens adorable Esther might have brought to a region unprepared to cope with them? Just sayin'.

Michael -
Please keep doing what you do, and saying what you say.
I enjoy your honesty.
It's your blog right?

Love the shadow play.
Thanks for reminding us of the Church's benevolance towards unbelievers. Religion is the cancer on humanity.
Please tell me you gave those poor people some payment for taking their pictures. Looks like they need it.
I suffer from hermaphrodite envy.
Animal abuse?! More like animal loving! You perv. C'mon, admit it, you love to smooch the pooch. You livestock lover, you.

I spent two wonderful weeks in Peru in February. Cusco and Machu Picchu were magnificent places to visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the country, the people, the food - the whole banana. I will return.

You and that alpaca are the cutest thing I saw all day. I do hope you made some donations to the locals and especially those elderly people you photographed. We have so much wealth and luxury here it's disgusting.
