The Chosen Issue
I’ve always enjoyed Flaunt magazine for its mix of hip fashion with substantive articles on culture. I’m especially enthusiastic about Flaunt’s issue Number 73, nicknamed “The Chosen Issue” for its emphasis on Jews in contemporary culture.
Among the subjects they discussed was comedian Sarah Silverman. Jewish or not, if you’re one of my regular readers, you aren’t likely to identify with Sarah's stance on circumcision. “It’s scary enough to put penises in your mouth,” she alleges. “No need to worry about the crevices.” Oh Sarah- it saddens me to have Judaism associated with a fear of blowjobs! After all, not all Jews are circumcised. Many of you have seen my cock. You know this is true.
The Beastie Boys, Dov Charney of American Apparel, and Josh Bernstein of The History Channel’s “Digging for the Truth” are all profiled in snappy, enlightening articles.
