Michael's Mailbox: Marching on ...
Dear readers,
This is the end of the month and I thought it would be appropriate to do something I do rarely. Not because I ignore people on my blog- but just because I get extremely busy running Lucas Entertainment. I always appreciate the comments, bad or good. But don't piss me off too badly, or I will be forced to fuck this puppy.
To start, The Outing blog got the strongest reaction recently. Sorry, I wasn't convinced by those who disagree with me. I know all about how important privacy is. But some people just don't get my simple point. Once someone becomes a celebrity, it is understood that he becomes a public figure. With fame and money comes a mix of pleasant and unpleasant attention. You are going to be under a media microscope and everyone understands this. If you want to have your "private life" stay private, stick to something like computer work or wait some fucking tables in North Carolina. But don't crawl towards the cameras, because it works both ways.
My second point is that at a time when homophobia is so overwhelming in this cruel world and people are being killed just for their sexual orientation, I really couldn't care about someone being a little more marketable because their fanbase is hugely homophobic. I really don't think that anyone should have concern for these people making a few less millions. Try to worry more about Matthew Shepard, or those who are pursecuted for being different who are not in the public eye, and whose problems are overlooked. (For example, I heard that Shiite Muslims have been publicly executing gays in the streets of Iraq. My applause to Mr. Bush for all the great "democracy" he has established with the new Iraqi Shiite government.)
Hillary Clinton is another controversial subject. I guess I didn't make one point clear. I was not saying "do not vote for Hillary", but instead- do not give money to a candidate that does not fully support your position. Give her your vote, but don't give her your cash. Yes I will give my vote to Hillary over Condoleeza Rice, no question. But I am not going to unconditionally financially support a candidate who periodically betrays me and does not stand up for the positions which are vitally important to me. As I said, I'd rather give that money to other charity organizations like LAMBDA legal. Gay people are often too delicate and too quick to create an icon. Why don't you learn from the powerful Jewish lobby of the US? Just like gays, as a minority, Jews are very politically active and have money. Can you imagine one presidential hopeful who will not clearly articulate his unconditional support for the state of Israel? He would not get a penny from them. Take it from the jews. Otherwise our money will always be taken for granted. Make those candidates you worship work for your money. Otherwise they will always betray you.

That reminds me of President Clinton's time. It was Clinton who signed this disgusting Defense of Marriage Act. (The one Hillary is now protecting) Bill also signed the embarrassing "Don't Ask Don't Tell" for the demands of bigots. What did we do? Absolutely nothing! Why? Because he is "our" president. How dare we. He is an icon. There was not even a conversation about gay marriage during Clinton's time. Ironically we got much further under Bush in the last 6 years than under Clinton in 8 years. It clearly shows that we make greater progress when we are alert, united, and going full force, fighting for our goals.
As for my performance in Florida, I think I need to clarify that I am not apologizing to anyone who does not understand my jokes. The point which I made to myself is that once you are in a room where people aren't on your same wavelength, then it's better to stick to the original programming. And in that case it was just swinging my dick around. I am not interested in offending those who paid money to see some cock. But I am not changing myself into a different person just because people don't get me. I am sure that my GAYVN speech is a good example of that.
That brings me to the last hot topic of the month: the awards show. Whenever I get on stage to speak, then I will always say whatever I want. I really don't think there were any horrible consequences from my words aside from bringing attention to the show. If someone really wants to be offended and wants to take what I say literally, that's ok. I am not bothered. Let them think I am a bitch.
Love,
Michael

Hindsight is 20/20, but I think many people have forgotten how much Bill Clinton did for gays. At a time when it was just "understood" in America that gays did not belong in the military, he tried to push forward a proposal to eliminate the exclusion (as a way of repaying the gay community for its support in the election). It was only when there was a loud public and private outcry that he was forced to back away from his goal and sign the Don't Ask/Don't Tell policy as a way of salvaging something positive.
No one in high political power has done more to bring gay ideals to the fore than President Clinton.
Hilary Clinton is trying to be everything to everyone so as not to anger anyone so early in the process. I have a feeling once she is assured of the nomination there will be a platform of strong support for the gay community. Look, if we all want some say in the political process we are going to have to give money. Who else are we going to give it to?..a Republican nominee?
Yes, we sure can learn a lot from the Jewish community and also the black community. One group used cash and the other used votes to garner political clout. Why can't we use both?
Michael, please, no one should have taken any offense to your commments in Palm Beach. I was there and it was clever and funny.

Hi Mr. Lucas,
I don't think you need to apologize or explain anything. You are who you are and thats all any of us can be. Don't be offended, but I never knew who Michael Lucas was until you did Dangerous Liasons. I'm just not a veiwer of porn anything sooo it took some friends of mine buying the DVD for me to find out about you. They figured since I liked Dangerous Liasons it would be a great introduction. It was better than they knew, since I have become a big fan of Gus Maddox and now you. Why? Not because you guys are great looking, but because your smart, and funny. That goes way farther in my book. I'm a model talent scout, beauty is everywhere, but brains? Those are in short supply.

Michael, your smart and you have the looks that make it work for you. I totally agree don't back a canidate unless they are backing your issues. In this country money speaks loud and clear.

Hi Michael;
I urge you not to fuck that puppy. He has VD.
The reports you've heard about Badr Brigade members killing LGBT people in the streets of Baghdad are true.
Back in August, the U.S. brokered a change to the Iraqi Constitution that made Islam 'The' rather than 'a' main source of Iraqi law. Islamic law, Sharia, calls for homosexuals to be killed.
Never mind that that wording of the Constitution turned Iraq into a theocracy, and that a theocracy can not possibly be considered a democracy; in October, 2005, the Ayatollah al-Sistani issued a fatwa calling for gays to be killed in "the severest way of killing."
Visibly gay people are being set upon in the streets, with crowds cheering on the attackers and the victims left dead. Badr Brigade members make dates with gay people over the internet and then when the gays show up for the dates they are murdered. There are gay people hiding in the homes of sympathetic friends and relatives just as Ann Frank sought refuge from the Nazis in occupied Holland. When gay people seek safe haven in the Green Zone, American soldiers mock them and turn them away.
The mainstream American media do not even carry news of these events, even though the reports are 100% credible and Sistani's Arab-language website includes his anti-gay fatwa.
What is the reason Bush says nothing?
He didn't invade Iraq because he thought it was an immediate menace to us, nor because he thought there was an Iraq/Al Qaeda connection (though he claimed both and was later resoundingly disproven).
He didn't invade Iraq to establish a democracy. Sure, people voted and held up their purple ink-stained fingers. But if democracy isn't about more than voting, then it's just mob rule. Democracy has to include respect for the individual and protection of his rights within the community. And as soon as Sharia is made the law of the land, no sane person can call that system a democracy. I mean, if a woman can't even walk down the street without a veil over her head, what kind of freedom does she have? And those Badr Brigade members are, on a daily basis, killing women for not wearing veils.
Actually, Bush's greatest accomplishment in Iraq is one he never talks about. He achieved production sharing agreements that give American oil companies a big whopping share of the profits from Iraqi oil.
That is the real main reason Bush invaded Iraq, and also the reason we are not going to hear him of his own initiative and willingly say anything about the ongoing holocaust against Irai gay people.
So I ask; where the fuck is Hillary Clinton? An ayatollah who is on the side Bush supports in Iraq has issued a fatwa calling for all gays to be killed, and the fatwa is being carried out. The fact of the fatwa and its carrying-out can be quickly verified on the internet. I repeat; where the fuck is Hillary Clinton?
Our fellow gay human beings are being slaughtered in Iraq in a situation occasioned by and sanctioned by the man acting as our president. Every time an American gay person uses something that requires petrolium, he or she should be thinking of how the oil politics of the Bush administration led directly to the ongoing holocaust against those gay people in Iraq. And the fact that Bush (and Hillary Clinton) would allow for such an outrage to transpire, unremarked, should make us really and truly fear what they are capable of allowing to happen to US here.

Hi Michael,
You say to be a strong forefighter of safe sex in your videos by having the models use condoms while fucking. But do you realize eating eachother´s cum is also one of the biggest risks to contract HIV?!!
F.e. in "Dorm Room Educations" the top licks the sperm of the face of the bottom and then kisses him directly. Also the bottom sucks the top´s cock right after coming.
In the audition with Wilfried, Ross and Milan, we see Ross clearly eating Wilfried´s sperm and sucking his cock after he came.
These are just 2 examples. Am I misinformed or what´s the deal here? Why do you choose to have models protect themselves during fucking and on the other hand putting themselves at (great) risk by eating someonelse´s cum?

I was at you show in Palm Beach and I think you did a great job, you were funny and sexy as hell, as far as your jokes goes some work some don't if the person doesn't get the joke someone else will. And it was a fun evening, my first time at Cupid's and it was worth going. If you go there again you can be sure I will drive up just to see you.

What I like about your column is that you have your own ideas and even if someone disagrees with you, one cannot dispute the fact that you always state your opinions with valid points to support your perspective.
Now I am curious, what do you think of Splash and the other Chelsea clubs being targeted and shut down by the NYPD? It is a fact too many gay men are abusing drugs, but I think we all know drug abuse is not exclusively a "gay" problem. I mean there are still plenty of bars in New York where 2 gay guys would be made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, while a drug dealer would be welcomed by the straight customers.

I'd like to add another note of "praise" for Mr. Lucas. We just barely know each other, but when I e-mailed him on my Mom's passing ( it was a blessing since she had Alzheimers ) as a gesture Michael offered to send me one of any title in his collection. I was really moved by that!! Michael not only has brains, but feelings as well!

Hmmm...I don't think it's fair to say that we've made more progress during the Bush Administration than what we did under Clinton. If you think about it, Clinton set the stage and time and general progress evolved. It was through the blatant anti-homosexual establishment that change occurred. Why? Cause gays nowadays are lazy bitches until someone takes a piss in their tulip patch. At least Clinton was respectful and tried the best that he could considering the times.
I also want to say that I think it's a rather naive thing to say vote for the canidate just don't give them money. Without money how do you expect the best choice for President? The Republican regime is a very wealthy one and Democrats, are well, cheap. Unfortunately, all democrats need more than just your vote. They need money to get other lazy and cheap Democrats and Independants to the polls.
Am I wrong?
