On the road again ...
Ok guys,
I'm off to San Francisco where I face the delightful fun that comes with suing my ex-distributor. Depositions and suits and documents, oh my!
I'll be coming back on Sunday, tied up this time in our company's move.
That's right, The Manifest Destiny of Lucas Entertainment has arrived. Lucas Entertainment signed a 10 year lease in stunning a 5,000 square ft office located in the heart of Manhattan (the center of the world!) on 8th Avenue and 39th. Our new space will include luxury offices for all of the divisions of our company, including web development, casting, distribution, editing studios. Everything will be totally catered to our needs. The company started in my small apartment in the West Village. My desk was a step away from my bed. I started the company in 1998 and bought my first computer in 2000. From 2002-2004, Lucas Entertainment relocated into the 1500 sq ft Chelsea location and then I moved to my current 2 floor loft across the street. In 2004, we tore down the wall after a neighboring office emptied and we doubled our space, which was necessary when we started a Distribution Dept. In the beginning of 2005, we rented an additional 1500 sq foot office on the top floor of our building as a studio. At this point, the next step was logical. We got everything together, designed for our needs, making it easier to communicate btwn depts. This office has a true New York feel just like our productions. I love the huge windows overlooking the new New York Times Building and the hundreds of yellow cabs running up the avenue. It just fits like one of my beloved extra large condoms ...
