Gay-For-Pay: Part II

michaelblog44.jpgOnce again, some of you got your panties in a bunch about "contradictions" from me. Some of you take issue with my previous Gay-For-Pay article. The positive side of that shoot was how well these guys handled it. The only gay actor in Straight to Prague was myself, so if anyone was humiliated in that video, it would have been me. And as for me . . . well, I fucked those bitches hard. I never said it was a healthy or enjoyable shoot. When I was in the Czech Republic, straight performers were all that was provided by the Czech company. Life gave me some hetero lemons, and I made the best Czech lemonade that I could.

And as far as I am concerned, straight guys can fuck each other’s brains out. That’s between them and not us. What pisses me off is when directors pair straight and gay performers. What kind of disgusting fantasy is it to have some straight guy fuck you while he fantasizes about some ugly woman or worse, looks at pictures of someone else, while his cock is in your ass? I want to see hot sex, not just some stick-it-in, pull-it-out action. That isn’t worth fantasizing about. When you know there are two gay men who are enjoying each other, there’s a connection, and that is what’s important. When a straight guy fucks a gay guy and he can’t enjoy it without thinking of something else, it is demeaning to the gay performer. In the same vein, I also despise the glorification of straight men who give us a boring solo performance (think Ken Ryker), who look more like they are having a root canal than getting off.

johnLukasEmail.jpgAs for guys like Lukas Ridgeston (left, with John Waters and myself), I know him and he is sweet. But whenever he is asked whether he is gay, bi, or straight, he answers that he is “sexual”. What the fuck is that supposed to mean? I am pretty sure he means the injection of Cavarject in his dick and the anal beads up his ass.

I also loathe the agent turned convicted pimp (can we land his ass back in jail a third time please?) David Forest. He’s got a whole stable full of straight models like Zeb Atlas, Billy Brandt, Ken Ryker and fellow convict, Mark Dalton. I suppose they all deserve to be peddled by such a boss.

Now where were we? Ah yes, our Gay-For-Pay darlings . . . Why do they do it anyway? Their quick retort is always “the money”.

They make about $2000 per scene, and maybe 5 to 10 films a year- so 20 grand a year tops, and I’ll throw in an extra ten grand. So $30,000 a year? Why don’t these straight macho men do something more suited to them and drive a truck for the same money? Then they wouldn’t have to stick their dicks up gay men’s asses. And of course if they continue to perform this act that they despise doing, they will grow even more homophobic over time.

The bottom line- anyone can get their dick hard and stick it in something, and that’s surely not the litmus test for sexuality, particularly in porn. I’ve fucked a woman before and I’m certainly not bisexual. I just have good blood circulation. When you’re young, you could get hard from a nice breeze, and whether that breeze has tits or balls, a boner’s a boner.

Love

Michael

Michael-

Couldn't agree with you more. Am so tired of the straight "g4p" non-performers. Would rather see/be excited by guys that are accessible. I can download straight boy AF-type wallpaper if I want to just look at pretty boy/hot male bodies. The action has to be real...the link has to be seen or it just doesn't work. Keep doing what your doing. Your work, even the early stuff is far above what the alot of the industry is settling for. Keep it UP!

very interesting indeed....

Zeb Atlas is a joke, he and his fake boyfriend Vin Marco both use the "sexual" line when asked about their sexuality. They're too afraid, that if they admit to being straight, their horde of sycophants will stop throwing money at them. Hope they enjoy it while it last, the way they use steroids they'll be dead in five years.

>What kind of disgusting fantasy is it
>to have some straight guy fuck you
>while he fantasizes about some

>of someone else, while his cock is in your ass?

Um,should we really be telling guys what their fantasies should be? And I bet everyone's fantasized about some straight guy before...

I agree with your general sentiment, but think you are giving far too much credence to the notion that these guys are truly straight. These guys are in denial or plain liars. Straight guys do not repeatedly having sex with other men, including licking their asses and taking their semen, for all the world to see in perpetuity. The money is not that good to motivate a truly straight man to do that. These guys are bisexual or gay, but in deep denial.

...feel so proud that , you are so proud to be gay..and be what u are..( its always the other way round normally..people say I can be straight too..and feel proud..)...being happy the happiest. cheers!

Finally! im so relieved. Michael Lucas, im so glad you are speaking about this subject. I believe if its a gay establishment or company, they should have gay people working for them, I cant begin to tell you how disgusted I was when for example, I walked into Roxy on a saturday night, and most the bartenders were straight! what the fuck is that!!! and as for straight men being gay porn stars, there are enough gay guys out there willing to fuck on screen and become porn stars for directors to hire straight ones

Fascinating.

The "E! True Hollywood Story" people should be jumping on this. :)

A comment on the money: taking your total of 30K as an example. How long did it take to make this amount? In terms of actual "working days" probably not many. If the person in question has a "day job", then whatever he makes in the porn biz is gravy, no pun intended. And since most of these guys are relatively young, if they make 30k in their day job, then adding another 20k or 30k to this amount can come up to a rather tidy sum.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for emailing me and inviting me to join in on this conversation. In the 6+ years that my website has been online with an "Ask Chris" forum this topic has come up over and over again countless times. When people have asked me what I thought about working with/fucking a straight guy I have always answered, "I don't care if he says he's straight. I'm still fucking him up the ass." My favorite straight co-star was one of the most handsome men to ever grace the screen, Pavel Novotny aka Jan Dvorak. Sure it's nice when you have real chemistry with your co-star but I've fucked some gay guys I could care less if I ever saw again and quite frankly if Pavel Novotny wants to spend the night with me anytime he is more than welcome to. I don't know about Pavel but I certainly had awesome amazing chemistry with him. Was it one sided? Who knows but if the 6 foot projectile cumshot he had with my cock up his ass was an indication, I would say no. I mean how straight can you be laid up on a desk with your legs in the air and a cock up your ass while you're shooting your load? I think even Nancy Grace would agree the evidence suggests, gay.

I cast Mark Dalton in SuperSoaked. When I suggested him to Chi Chi while we were shopping for her depends at the 24 hour Wal-Mart in Oakland she said, "Oh my God, do you really think you can get him?" And I did with the help of your favorite agent David Forest. None of us knew Mark had legal trouble, he didn't tell anyone. From day one all Mark was ever supposed to do was jack off, that's what the part was before he was cast in it. I suppose I could have gotten some hot gay guy for it but Mark's been on the cover of 60 mens magazines, an amazing track record for anyone straight or not. He's a Dallas boy like me. We've danced together at The Crews Inn. I enjoyed working with Mark. He's very fun to be around and very easy on the eyes.

When it comes to casting I say forget sexual preference, divas are the real problem. Porn stars are either high maintenance or they're not and I've dealt with both gay and straight divas as I'm sure you have too. Plus, you know how it is. You can show two guys each others photos and they can both go nuts over each other then get on the set and have zero chemistry, and they can both be gay and they can both hate each other. You can't force chemistry but you can put a diva on a plane and send him home. And you can plug your new movie so with that look for my most recent movie to direct for Falcon called Cross Country to be released September 21, 2005. We shot it on location in beautiful New Zealand and it stars 23 unforgettable men, Roman Heart the most exceptional, in 2 parts with 10 scenes and all the stars are gay, well except for one, he says. I'll let you figure out who that is. See the cast at www.crosscountrythemovie.com Thanks!

O.K. I'm lost. Since i am not at the shoot i have no idea if an actor is having his girl friend around to get aroused. And unless i know or assume he is straight i just figure that he is getting off on the sex. That is why it is a fantasy, this is why we get off on the films because we don't know if someone is straight or not. So if it is an insult to the gay preformer the gay preformer can just say, "fuck off" and leave or shut up and stay and get his check.

Mike you have more information because you are on the set, we are just there for the ride. How can it be a discusting fantasy, as you call it, without me know what it takes for the actor to get off?

On the other hand, once i find out someone is straight i lose my interest in the performer (except for military men.) This is why i like this information to be known. I use to like Ken, Ryan, Jeff, Lucas and Billy but once i found out that they were using me or actually using my gay dollars i lost interest.

Which leads me to my unanswered question. Is Chad Hunt gay? In the film Thinking XXX he mentions his son and the money in gay films verses str8 films. Therefore, do you owe it to let the viewers know if someone in your company is using us in the same manner that you take such a strong stand against? I don't know Chad, i am only basing it on the film that was on HBO. I will not pay for any film that Chad is in the same way that i wouldn't pay for a film with Jeff, Ryan, Ken, et al. Shouldn't we all be boycotting Chad Hunt films if we use your same arguement? Now if he would make a film with military men....

I have been following along on this debate about gay vs. straight in gay porn. I have never really understood what the big deal is. I have always had the view point that if it turns you on and no one is getting hurt or doing someting against thier will, then sign me up.

If I get excited looking at Mark Dalton or Zeb Atlas, whether they are gay or straight, what's the problem? I knew from the get go that they were straight (well at least Mark Dalton, Zeb I had no clue nor did I care), but the point is it still did the job. They're selling a fantasy, and I could careless what the truth of their sexuality is. I am just as, if not more, turned on by Michael Lucas as I am straight performers, but what are my odds of sleeping with either? Thats why its a fantasy. It's really no different from being attracted to a straight guy in straight porn.

It's funny how we're all attacking these peope for "invading" our world, yet isn't that what we have been trying to prevent the straight community from doing to us? I have always had the theory that if you didn't like something, then don't participate in it. In this case, if you don't like Zeb Atlas or Mark Dalton or Jeff Stryker or Ken Ryker being in a gay film, then don't watch the movie. But they have just as much right being in that film as any other actor does as well as the one who want to see it have the right to watch.

I find it ironic that all of you are this personal and passionate in regards to straight men doing gay porn, but remained very silent when Michael posted a few days back about crystal and the continued spread of HIV. I guess your soap boxes were in the shop that day.

They're actors acting...it's what they do.
Mike

Great post, man! The topic is very fadcinating. I ownder how many porn actors are G4P in the gay porn industry. :-)

Posted by: WCB at August 21, 2005 10:07 PM

Kind of new to your site, but a very interesting read.

Lucas, I think you're too close to the subject at hand. And its because you're close to the subject that I think you have a very definate position and opinion on it.

Personally, I could care less if the actor I'm watching is straight or gay. When it boils down to it, I'm paying for one thing only and that's to watch very attractive guys doing it. Its no different than watching any other movie, mainstream or porn.

But I will say this, Mark Dalton has completely lost any interest for me by his actions. Much like Tom Cruise and his recent actions. To me your public image is everything. Which is why Lukas Ridgeston and most of the Bel Ami models remain very attractive to me. There's not much personal info on them and what we do know of is squeaky clean.

But thanks for that insight into how much a porn actor makes. I've always wondered.

Posted by: emyln at August 22, 2005 02:52 AM

Michael once again you have the right pulse on what gay is....anyone can get a hard on but to really get the sexual gradification, you have to be gay from the mind, the heart and of course your cock.

Posted by: Michael at August 22, 2005 11:35 AM

What gets me almost as much as g4p actors is that Paul Barresi guy, who swears he's straight but knows so much about what we gay men want to see in our porn. I mean, even Michael Ninn stepped aside and let Gino Colbert have the reins in Night Walk.

Posted by: e jerry powell at August 22, 2005 12:41 PM

O.K. Let me first chime in by answering the question am I gay. I suppose that depends on your definition of the word. if your definition of the word is Gay = enjoys sex with men then absolutely I'm Gay. If your definition of the word is Gay = Has emotional relationships with men, then Yes, I'm gay. If your definition is Gay = doesn't like sex with women, then No, I'm not gay. Personally I hate any and all labels. I'm just me. If I'm with a man or a woman and I'm enjoying eithers company then I'm just Happy. Enough Said about that. As far as Gay For Pay Actors ... Well I certainly have worked with my share of them and many of them have spend extracurricular time in hotel rooms after shooting and I can tell you for sure no one was getting paid. A lot of times this is an outlet for guys who have no other way of expressing their sexuality. Maybe they are to scared to come out just yet or Maybe they just aren't sure. I know a coupleboys I was with who started out str8 in movies are now self identifying as gay. Brian McClaine from Falcon for example. i do agree however that if your having sex with someone and they or you are not into it then whats the point.

Posted by: Chad Hunt at August 24, 2005 02:04 PM

Hey Mike, what you are forgetting though is that truck drivers ARE constantly "sticking their dicks up men's asses."
Of course they also have a load to deliver and that is a very stressful thing you know.

Posted by: MARC CROUX at August 25, 2005 04:52 PM

I got the idea that Lukas Ridgeston was straight because of Michael Lucas' original post. Now Lucas is saying that Ridgeston claims to be "sexual", and implies that he is really gay. I must have misunderstood his original post. At any rate, Michael, thanks for clearing things up...sort of....

I think it is hard to say Lukas Ridgeston is straight or not. According to the interview of Lukas Ridgeston in 1995, he mentioned that he'd got a girlfriend. He, however, found that he could enjoy having sex with a boy as well as a girl. Here, I'd like to say that, if Lukas Ridgeston has never got involved gay porn movie making, he probably never knew that - in other words, he would be straight at his whole life.

Coming back to g4p issue, my opinion is that not only the gay porn stars get the money from gay porn movies, but also the companies of making gay porn movies do. In the interview, Lukas Ridgeston also mentioned that Bel Ami which he is working for has a philosophy- they don't employ gay staff, exactly to avoid dating and indiscretion. 95% of Bel Ami models don't have any sexual experience with men prior to filming. Therefore, I want to say that the film companies' policies could be the reason why so many straight guys are making money from gay porn movies. The most interesting thing about the interview was that when Lukas Ridgeston was asked if he knew any gay, he answered that the only gay man he knew was George Duroy (who was camerist in Bel ami).

After all, that's a ten-year-ago interview. I'm sure that Lukas Ridgeston must know a lot of gay people now.

These gay porn stars, in many ways, just look at film-making as a method of making life. So I would not blame that if they are straight or not. I'm from a conservative asian country which has a long history. But in our culture, we have a slang - teasing the poor people, not teasing the sex-workers. Because we assume that many people are so lazy that to be poor. But the sex-workers give their effort (having sex) to earn money. That is also a kind of labor.

I think I've moved too far away from our issue. I just want to say that the gay porn stars, no matter straight or gay, they spend their youth in front of camera, for making life rather than having fun. Indeed, I believe the film companies would be the most beneficiary from the gay porn movies.

PS: I'm not a native english speaker. Do you guys understand my writing?

Cheers,
Stanley

Thanks for answering, but I was refering to Lucas Foz, model from Studio 2000, Private and lately Chi Chi LaRue, working in Spain not of Bel Ami Model Lukas Ridgestone,

Take Care, Luis

Most of these "straight" porn stars doing gay porn are really bisexual. The reason why they don't self-identify that way is that they are truly confused on bisexuality.

In the Village Voice, a guy who did gay pornos described it this way:

Christian doesn't consider himself bi: "Bisexual to me means I could walk into a nightclub, pick up a girl or a guy and go home with them, and that's not going to happen. In my personal life, I only date women."

What's wrong about this description is that it assumes that all bisexuals are into men and women equally. That's not true and most research on the issue confirms it. Many bisexual men prefer women and every once in while will have sex with a man. Or the exact opposite. There are some I like to call relunctant bisexuals-- they won't actively seek out sex from a man, but can be wooed into getting head.

Real straight guys will not have sex with a guy for no amount of money. Bi-curious and bisexual men will for a relative small amount of money.

Lucas Ridgeston's statement about him being sexual is also very weird. He says that he is just "sexual" which really means he is bisexual. He just can't say the word.

And here's why:

Bel Ami has a policy that discriminates against anyone who self-identifies as gay. They say its "to avoid dating and indiscretion." Like a gay porn company is really worried about interoffice dating and indiscretion. Chi Chi Larue would never get laid if it wasn't for interoffice dating and indiscretion. Why would any gay man support a company that discriminates against gays? And this policy, what a crock of shit. It assumes that gay men can't work with each other without everyone banging each other. How self-hating can you be? These companies must be owned by Republicans.

The policy makes any model on Bel Ami suspect -- come out as bisexual or gay and you are fired. So, they all say they are straight to keep the good paying gig.

Many of the models claim that they have never done anything with a guy beforehand. But, we have found plenty of models on websites like Corbin Fisher and Amateur Straight Guys who said the same thing, only to accidently let the truth slip.

Now, I personally have slept with a few of these straight guys who have done "gay for pay" videos. These guys have done videos on Military Classified, Randy Blue, Dirk Yates Live, Major Wood Productions, All Worlds Video, etc. No money was exchanged. They did it on their own free will. They had to be wooed a little, but it didn't really take much more than picking up a guy at a gay bar.

The pay thing is an excuse to explore what they really wanted to do in the first place. A guy I know who was Jacob on Dirk Yates Video and Auntie Bob really explored what he wanted to do in the first place on video.

If gay for pay truly existed, you could buy any straight frat boy on the street for $2,000. Since they are only doing it for the pay, it could be with some 75 year old fat queen. Again, it doesn't happen like that -- you have to hardwired into being cool with sex with a guy.

And if gay for pay exists, where are all the "straight for pay" gay guys? Michael is only one of two I've ever heard about.
