Dogs like children speak to the innocence of humanity that resides in each of despite the effects of living in the fucked-up world of adults - who BTW caused all the "fucked-upness" in God's good world. RUDE. In a world where people would just walk past you when you need help you can accept or understand the simple act of kindness? The English have a saying that says that you can't teach breeding. If someone takes the time to come up to you (and for once is not asking for money) and you can't acknowlegde their simple act of kindness than maybe you should get rid of your dog. In a world of people hating you for your religion, nationality, ethnicity (Russian Jew i think you refer to yourself) and sexuality if someone comes up to you and you can't be polite, in-kind than this speaks volumes about yourself. Any manners book would tell you that you do not have to make conversation but could acknowledge the compliment and move on. Celebrities and politicans do this all the time. As gay people we have to show the world that we are role models. This way people will come to accepts us rather than listen to the religious right and however we are procieved in the media. We gay people owe it to our community to take the high road. Rudeness is inexcusable. SHAME ON YOU.
